Singapore Visa Status Check: How to Track Your Application

Check a Singapore visa status on ICA’s SAVE e-service with two details: the visa reference number your agent gives you and your passport number. No login.

Key Takeaways

·       ICA’s SAVE e-service shows a Singapore visa application’s status without any login, using the visa reference number and the applicant’s passport number.

·       The reference number is generated when the application is submitted, so if an authorised visa agent filed it, ask the agent for that number.

·       A passport number alone cannot pull up a Singapore visa application, and ICA does not disclose why a visa was refused.

Check your status on ICA’s SAVE e-service using the visa reference number your agent gives you and your passport number (ICA, Apply for Entry Visa, eservices.ica.gov.sg , accessed 2026-09-17). The Enquire Application Status form needs no Singpass login, and once the visa is approved the same screen lets you print the e-Visa. This is the official Singapore visa status check for an application an authorised visa agent in India has filed for you.

This guide is maintained by Zurich Kotak General Insurance, an IRDAI-registered general insurer in India and part of the Zurich Insurance Group. It covers tracking an application; for the visa itself, see our guide to the Singapore visa for Indians .

How to check your Singapore visa status on ICA’s SAVE e-service

Open ICA’s Apply for Entry Visa service, choose Enquire Application Status, and enter two details. The Singapore Consulate-General in Mumbai publishes these steps on mumbai.mfa.gov.sg (Consulate-General of Singapore, Mumbai, accessed 2026-09-17):

1.      Go to ICA’s website, ica.gov.sg , typing the address yourself.

2.      Under e-Services and Forms, open Apply for Entry Visa. ICA’s Check Status / Make Appointment page also lists Entry Visa and leads to the same service.

3.      Click Enquire Application Status. A form titled “Enquire for Application of Visa” opens.

4.      Enter the two fields below and click Next.

5.      If the application has been approved, click Print e-visa to get your copy.

Field on the form

What to enter

Where it comes from

Individual/Family Visa Reference Number

Up to 19 characters. Published formats: DELXXXXXXSAXXXXXXXX (New Delhi), MUBXXXXXXSAXXXXXXX (Mumbai)

The acknowledgement page generated when the application is submitted

Applicant’s Travel Document Number

Your passport number

Your passport

Both fields are required, so a passport number alone will not find the application. Button names on the mission pages differ slightly from ICA’s screens; the names above are ICA’s.

Travelling to Singapore? Get covered before you fly. Travel insurance for Singapore is not something the visa asks for, but the approval that shows up here pays nothing towards a hospital bill in Singapore.

Where the visa reference number comes from

The reference number is created the moment the application is submitted, so whoever submits it has the number first. The Chennai Consulate-General’s FAQ says: “Visa application reference number is generated on the acknowledge page when a visa is successfully submitted.” If you do not have it, the same FAQ tells you to contact the authorised visa agent you applied through (Chennai FAQ on visa, accessed 2026-09-17).

ICA built the check for applicants as well as submitters. Its release introducing the e-Visa describes a “Status Enquiry” function “to enable the local contact or the applicant to check on the status of the visa application online” (ICA media release, accessed 2026-09-17).

So ask for the reference number when you hand over your file, along with an itemised receipt. If a Singapore citizen or PR submitted the application for you, the number is with them.

If your agent holds the reference number

Ask the agent for it; an authorised visa agent can also check the status and print the e-Visa for you. Mumbai says that if you misplace an approved e-Visa you can reprint it through the status steps or “contact the Authorised Visa Agent through whom you had applied your visa with for assistance.”

·       You need nobody else. With the reference number and your passport you can run the enquiry yourself, so there is no reason to pay a third party to track a Singapore visa.

·       The missions answer visa queries too. The Mumbai Consulate-General takes them on +91 22 6150 2900 during office hours; New Delhi and Chennai publish contact details on their own websites, new-delhi.mfa.gov.sg and chennai.mfa.gov.sg .

·       ICA does not phone for money. Its visa e-service warns: “ICA will NEVER ask for money/bank log-in details by phone.”

How long to wait before following up

Allow 3 to 5 working days from submission, not counting the submission day, weekends or public holidays, before you chase. That is the time the missions in India state for agent applications. ICA’s own figure is three working days, and every source adds that some applications take longer (High Commission of Singapore, New Delhi and ICA, India visa requirements, accessed 2026-09-17). If nothing has changed after the fifth working day, contact your agent first, since it filed the application. For counting the days and deciding when to apply, see Singapore visa processing time .

What a delay or a refusal looks like

ICA publishes no glossary of status messages, so if the wording on screen is unclear, ask your agent what it means for your file. What the official sources do say:

Situation

What the official source says

Incomplete form or papers

New Delhi: they “may result in the application being rejected or the processing delayed”

Photo not to specification

ICA: it “can delay your application or result in its rejection”

More papers needed

ICA: additional supporting documents “may be required on a case-by-case basis”

Refusal reason

Chennai FAQ: “ICA do not disclose the reason of rejection due to confidentiality of information.”

Appeal

Within one month of the refusal, through the agent that submitted it; generally 14 working days, depending on complexity (Chennai FAQ)

The fee

Not refunded; see Singapore visa fees for Indians

Because ICA gives no reason, a fresh application needs a careful look at the file before it goes in again. Our guide to common reasons for visa rejection covers the usual causes. Visa Denial Insurance, an optional cover you can add when you buy a Zurich Kotak Smart Travel policy, reimburses the visa fee, not the premium, if the application is rejected; it is not available on annual multi-trip policies.

Once the status shows approved

Print the e-Visa from the status screen, check it against your passport, then file the SG Arrival Card before you fly.

·       Print it. Use Print e-visa; the same steps reprint a lost copy. No sticker goes in your passport.

·       Check the details. The visa belongs to the passport it was issued against and becomes invalid if a new passport is issued (Mumbai), and its validity cannot be amended once issued (Chennai FAQ). Raise any mistake with your agent at once.

·       Travel inside the validity. The visa lets you seek entry during its validity; the ICA officer at the checkpoint decides how long you may stay, and an e-Pass email tells you your last day.

·       File the SG Arrival Card in the three days before arrival; see our Singapore Arrival Card guide.

Status tools that are easy to confuse

ICA’s Check Status page lists several enquiries, and only one of them tracks a visa application.

ICA tool

Use it for

You need

Apply for Entry Visa, Enquire Application Status

A visa application, before you travel

Visa reference number and passport number

e-Pass Enquiry Portal

The visit pass granted when you entered

The details the portal asks for

Extension of Short-Term Visit Pass

An application to stay longer

Passport number plus either the SG Arrival Card disembarkation/embarkation number or the passport expiry date

If you only have a passport number, the visa enquiry will not find your application. How the visa was filed is set out in how to apply for a Singapore e-Visa .

Where travel insurance fits

Travel insurance is not mandatory for a Singapore visa or for entry, but it is strongly recommended because medical treatment for visitors is expensive. A policy has no bearing on whether ICA approves a visa. It matters once the approval is in and the trip is real.

Zurich Kotak’s Smart Travel plans cover Singapore under the Asia geography, with Excel offering sum insured up to USD 100,000 and Prime up to USD 500,000. The Asia plans accept travellers up to age 70, with no Senior Citizen plan on this geography; travellers aged 71 or over can see travel insurance for senior citizens . Emergency medical treatment is the core, with baggage, trip delay, trip cancellation, passport loss and medical evacuation covered up to plan limits, and claims handled by Europ Assistance India on a cashless or reimbursement basis. See travel insurance for Singapore .

FAQs

Q: How can I check my Singapore visa status? A: On ICA’s SAVE e-service: on ica.gov.sg , open Apply for Entry Visa under e-Services and Forms, choose Enquire Application Status, and enter your visa reference number and passport number. No login is needed, and an approved e-Visa can be printed from the same screen.

Q: Can I check my Singapore visa status with my passport number only? A: No. The enquiry needs the visa reference number as well as the passport number. The reference number is generated when the application is submitted, so ask the authorised visa agent or local contact who filed it.

Q: Where do I find my Singapore visa reference number? A: On the acknowledgement page generated when the application is submitted, which your agent sees. The Chennai Consulate-General advises contacting the authorised visa agent you applied through if you do not have it. New Delhi references begin DEL and Mumbai references begin MUB.

Q: What should I do if my Singapore visa status has not changed? A: Wait until the stated processing time has passed: 3 to 5 working days through an agent in India, excluding the submission day, weekends and public holidays, and some applications take longer. After that, contact the agent that submitted your application.

Q: Can I download my Singapore e-Visa from the status page? A: Yes. Once the application is approved, the status enquiry offers a Print e-visa option, and the same steps reprint a lost copy. Your authorised visa agent can also give you a copy.

Q: Will ICA tell me why my Singapore visa was refused? A: No. ICA does not disclose refusal reasons, citing confidentiality. An appeal can be made within one month of the refusal through the agent that filed the application, and generally takes 14 working days.
