Singapore Tourist Visa for Indians: Documents and Requirements

Singapore tourist visa for Indians: the documents ICA and the missions ask for, what agents add, the six-month passport rule and who sets your stay.

Key Takeaways

·       ICA’s own document list for an Indian tourist visa is short: a signed Form 14A, a colour photo taken within three months, and a passport copy.

·       Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date you enter Singapore, and you do not need to buy a flight ticket before applying.

·       A Singapore visa only lets you seek entry: the immigration officer at the checkpoint decides how long you may stay, and holding a visa does not guarantee entry.

For a Singapore tourist visa, Indians need a completed Form 14A signed by the applicant, a recent colour photograph taken within the last three months, and a photocopy of the passport biodata page, with the passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry; further documents may be asked for case by case (ICA, India visa requirements, ica.gov.sg , accessed 2026-09-17). Agents often ask for more; this guide keeps the two lists apart.

This guide is maintained by Zurich Kotak General Insurance, an IRDAI-registered general insurer in India and part of the Zurich Insurance Group. For fees and the overall process, start with our guide to the Singapore visa for Indians .

Singapore tourist visa documents: the official list

Indian ordinary passport holders need a Singapore visa approved before travel, and Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) lists three fixed documents plus any it asks for case by case. There is no visa on arrival: ICA “does not accept submission of visa application over the immigration counters”. The table adds what the Singapore missions in India say ( new-delhi.mfa.gov.sg , mumbai.mfa.gov.sg , chennai.mfa.gov.sg ).

Travelling to Singapore? Get covered before you fly. Travel insurance for Singapore is not a visa document, but a visa pays nothing if you need a hospital there.

What Form 14A asks you to declare

Form 14A is a four-page ICA form, “issued free”, and your application “shall be made based on the information declared in this form”, so complete every field and sign it yourself. Download it from ica.gov.sg (ICA Form 14A, accessed 2026-09-17). It asks for:

·       You: passport, birth, marital and contact details, occupation, qualification, religion and annual income in Singapore dollars.

·       The trip: arrival date, visa type (single, double, triple or multiple journey), purpose (social or business), and whether you will stay less or more than 30 days, with reasons if more.

·       Where you will stay: your Singapore address, and a local contact, company or hotel.

·       History: residence abroad in the last five years, and four questions on refused entry or deportation, convictions, bans and entry under different particulars.

·       A travelling companion for an applicant aged 12 or under, unless an airline representative accompanies the child.

The declaration warns that false information may lead to prosecution, so make your income, stay and address answers match your papers.

The six-month passport rule

Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date you enter Singapore, and every traveller, including a child, needs their own passport. ICA: travellers “must ensure their passport has a minimum validity of 6 months”, and “All travellers, regardless of age, must hold a valid individually-issued travel document” (ICA, Entering Singapore, accessed 2026-09-17).

Renew first if you are close to the limit: Mumbai says a visa becomes invalid “if the visa holder is issued a new passport”. Our guide on when to renew your passport explains the timing.

What agents commonly ask for

Authorised visa agents often ask for supporting papers that no ICA or mission page lists, so treat them as the agent’s checklist, not Singapore’s rules. None of these is on an official list.

Document agents often ask for

A birth certificate, the parents’ passport copies, and a consent letter from a parent who is not travelling

For a child, ask your agent how it wants Form 14A signed.

Stay length, validity and multiple entry

Your visa lets you seek entry during its validity; the ICA officer at the checkpoint decides how long you may stay, and the e-Pass email tells you your last day. ICA: “The period of stay in Singapore is not tied to the validity of your visa” (ICA, visa requirements, accessed 2026-09-17).

Question

Position

Source

Can I get a multiple-entry visa?

Request single, double, triple or multiple journey on Form 14A; every visa and its duration is considered “on its own merits”, and ICA publishes no multiple-entry scheme or standard validity for Indians

Form 14A; New Delhi

Single or multiple journey?

Single: used once. Multiple: “no limit on the number of times that you can use the visa so long it is within the validity period”

Chennai FAQ

Validity

Printed on the visa and includes the expiry date; it cannot be amended or extended. If you enter within validity, a return after expiry needs no new visa

Chennai FAQ

Length of stay

Set by the visit pass issued on arrival and sent as an e-Pass email, showing the period of stay and the last day allowed

ICA; New Delhi

Staying longer

Apply online when the visit pass has 14 days or less left; processed within five working days

ICA, extension of visit pass

ICA publishes no standard length of stay; the Singapore High Commission in Wellington’s FAQ says it “is normally between 14 to 30 days” at the officer’s discretion (Wellington FAQ, accessed 2026-09-17), a guide rather than a rule.

After approval: e-Visa and the SG Arrival Card

An approved visa comes as an e-Visa, not a passport sticker, and the next step is the free SG Arrival Card, filed within three days before you arrive. ICA says your agent or local contact “can use the e-Service to print a copy of your e-Visa for you”; you can also print it from ICA’s status enquiry with your visa reference number and passport number. Print a copy to carry.

Every traveller entering Singapore, including Indian visitors, files a free SG Arrival Card with electronic health declaration on ICA’s SGAC e-Service or the MyICA Mobile app, within three days before arrival counting arrival day. It is not a visa, and ICA warns that “Travellers who fail to submit SGAC may be denied entry into Singapore.” Give an email address you check, because your e-Pass goes there. See our Singapore Arrival Card guide.

At the checkpoint, ICA expects a passport with six months’ validity, your biometrics (fingerprints, face and iris), and “sufficient cash and proof of onward travel (tickets, visas)”. And “Possession of a valid visa does not guarantee entry into Singapore.”

Avoiding a refusal

ICA does not tell you why a visa was refused, so the best protection is a complete, consistent application. The Chennai FAQ: “ICA do not disclose the reason of rejection due to confidentiality of information.” New Delhi warns that incomplete forms or documents can mean rejection or delay. You can appeal within one month through the agent that submitted the application; appeals generally take 14 working days. The processing fee is not refunded.

Apply through an authorised visa agent appointed by the Singapore mission for your state, or a Singapore local contact with Singpass; our guide on how to apply for a Singapore visa online covers the process. See also common reasons for visa rejection . Visa Denial Insurance, an optional cover you can add when you buy a Zurich Kotak Smart Travel policy, reimburses the visa fee, not the premium, if the application is rejected or you are denied entry on arrival; it is not available on annual multi-trip policies.

Where travel insurance fits

Travel insurance is not mandatory for a Singapore visa or for entry, but it is strongly recommended because medical treatment for visitors is expensive. Neither the visa application nor the SG Arrival Card asks for proof of insurance, and an agent offering to bundle a policy is selling a product, not applying a rule.

Zurich Kotak’s Smart Travel plans cover Singapore under the Asia geography, on two tiers: Excel, with sum insured up to USD 100,000, and Prime, up to USD 500,000. The Asia plans accept travellers up to age 70 and there is no Senior Citizen plan on this geography; travellers aged 71 or over can read about travel insurance for senior citizens .
