Every vehicle must carry a valid registration number issued by RTO Noida. The office issues two types of registration:
Temporary Registration
Issued for new vehicles at the time of purchase, temporary registration is valid for up to 30 days. It allows the owner to drive the vehicle legally while the permanent registration is being processed. Dealers typically handle this on behalf of the buyer.
Permanent Registration
Permanent registration is issued after physical vehicle verification and document submission. It assigns a unique UP-16 series registration number to the vehicle, which serves as the official identity of the vehicle on Indian roads.

Upon successful verification, the registration number will be assigned and the RC (smart card) will be mailed to your registered address.

Vehicle owners in Noida are required to pay road tax to the UP government at the time of registration. The tax rate depends on the purchase price of the vehicle:
Vehicles priced below Rs. 20,000: 2% of the vehicle price
Vehicles priced between Rs. 20,001 and Rs. 60,000: 4% of the vehicle price
Vehicles priced between Rs. 60,001 and Rs. 2 lakh: 6% of the vehicle price

A learner's licence issued by RTO Noida is valid for 6 months from the date of issue. You must apply for a permanent driving licence within this period after completing the required practice period of at least 30 days.
No. While you can fill out the application form and book an appointment online, vehicle registration requires a physical inspection of the vehicle at the RTO. You must visit the office with your vehicle and documents to complete the process.
You can apply for a duplicate driving licence through the Sarathi portal online. For a duplicate RC, visit the RTO office with a written application, an FIR copy (in case of loss), your original ID proof and the applicable fee. Alternatively, initiate the process online at parivahan.gov.in.
For ownership transfer, submit Form 29 (notice of transfer) and Form 30 (application for transfer of ownership) at the RTO, along with the original RC, insurance certificate, valid PUC certificate, address proof of the new owner and the applicable transfer fee.
Yes. If you hold a valid Indian driving licence, you can apply for an international driving permit at RTO Noida. You will need to visit the office in person with your valid DL, passport, visa, three passport-size photographs and the applicable fee. This process cannot be completed online.
