Singapore Trip Cost from India: The Full Budget, Line by Line

Key Takeaways

·       A 4-night Singapore trip from India costs about INR 57,000 to 87,000 per person on a budget, or INR 91,000 to 1,51,000 mid-range, with two people sharing a room.

·       The visa adds INR 3,400 per person through a New Delhi or Mumbai mission agent, and Singapore’s hotels averaged S$273.5 a night in 2025, about INR 20,567.

·       These totals leave out travel insurance and shopping, and applicants under the Chennai mission pay a different agent fee, so the INR 3,400 visa figure does not apply to them.

The Singapore trip cost from India for 4 nights and 5 days is about INR 57,000 to 87,000 per person on a budget, INR 91,000 to 1,51,000 mid-range and INR 1,57,000 to 2,65,000 at a comfortable level, with two people sharing a room. Most lines are built from published prices, including Singapore Tourism Board hotel data (Singapore Department of Statistics, Hotel Statistics, accessed 2026-09-17), converted at 1 SGD = INR 75.2 on 2026-09-17 (ExchangeRate-API).

This guide is maintained by Zurich Kotak General Insurance, an IRDAI-registered general insurer in India and part of the Zurich Insurance Group.

Last verified: 2026-09-17. Airfares and hotel rates move the most, so re-check both before booking.

The Singapore visa line item

Budget INR 3,400 per person: a visa processing fee of INR 2,100 plus an authorised visa agent’s service charge of INR 1,300, as published by the Singapore missions in New Delhi and Mumbai (High Commission of Singapore, New Delhi, new-delhi.mfa.gov.sg , and Consulate-General of Singapore, Mumbai, mumbai.mfa.gov.sg , both accessed 2026-09-17). Neither is refunded if the visa is refused. The Chennai Consulate-General ( chennai.mfa.gov.sg ) publishes an INR 1,000 service fee and allows other charges, so confirm the total with a Chennai agent. Children need visas too. The full fee table is in our guide to Singapore visa fees for Indians .

Indian passport holders need a Singapore visa before they fly: there is no visa on arrival, and the application goes in through an authorised visa agent appointed by the Singapore mission for your state. See our guide to the Singapore visa for Indians and check ICA’s website before you book.

Tourist plans for foreign passport holders start at S$10 for 7 days, about INR 752, with S$15 and S$30 plans for 30 days (Singtel, singtel.com , accessed 2026-09-17). Visitors aged 16 or over can reclaim the 9% GST on purchases of at least S$100 (about INR 7,520) from participating shops, less a handling fee, at Changi Airport’s eTRS kiosks (IRAS, Tourist Refund Scheme, accessed 2026-09-17).

Travel insurance

Travel insurance is not mandatory for a Singapore visa or for entry, but it is strongly recommended because medical treatment for visitors is expensive. Its price depends on your age, trip length and sum insured.

Travelling to Singapore? Get covered before you fly. Travel insurance for Singapore is priced on your own dates and ages, and it is the one line in this budget that pays out when something goes wrong.

What a family of four pays

Two adults and two children aged 4 to 12 should budget about INR 3,05,000 to 4,97,000 for 4 mid-range nights.

The low attractions figure covers the Gardens by the Bay conservatories, Singapore Zoo, Universal Studios Singapore on a non-peak date and the Sentosa Express for all four. Our page on family travel insurance explains how one policy can cover the family.

When the same trip costs more

Hotel rates follow Singapore’s event calendar: gazetted hotels averaged S$311.4 a night in October 2025, the Grand Prix month, against S$253.8 in June 2025 (SingStat, Hotel Statistics, Monthly, source Singapore Tourism Board, accessed 2026-09-17), about INR 23,417 against INR 19,086.

Adding Malaysia? Check its entry rules in our guide to the Malaysia tourist visa for Indians , and note that travellers arriving in Singapore from Malaysia get no duty-free liquor concession (Singapore Customs, customs.gov.sg , accessed 2026-09-17).

Ways to spend less

Where you sleep and when you fly save the most; how you eat and move saves the rest.

·       Stay near an MRT line in Little India or Bugis.

·       Eat at hawker centres, where chicken rice averages S$4.21.

·       Use the free sights: Supertree Grove, Garden Rhapsody, the Sentosa Boardwalk.

·       Take the MRT from Changi Airport, not a taxi.

·       Avoid the Grand Prix weekend and Indian holiday peaks.

·       Refill a bottle from the tap; keep receipts over S$100 for the GST refund.

Where travel insurance fits in the budget

Most of a Singapore budget is paid before you leave India, and travel insurance protects that money and the medical bills a visa does not touch.

Zurich Kotak’s Smart Travel plans cover Singapore under the Asia geography: Excel, with a sum insured up to USD 100,000, and Prime, up to USD 500,000. The Asia plans accept travellers up to age 70, with no Senior Citizen plan on this geography; travellers aged 71 or over can read about travel insurance for senior citizens . Emergency medical treatment is the core of the cover, with trip cancellation, trip delay, baggage and passport loss covered up to plan limits. Claims run through Europ Assistance India and are settled within 15 days of complete documents. Buy the policy once your dates are fixed, and check the policy wording for when trip cancellation cover begins.

FAQs

Q: How much does a Singapore trip cost from India? A: About INR 57,000 to 87,000 per person for a 4-night budget trip, INR 91,000 to 1,51,000 mid-range and INR 1,57,000 to 2,65,000 at a comfortable level, with two people sharing a room. That covers flights, the visa, hotel, food, local transport, attractions and a SIM, at 1 SGD = INR 75.2 on 2026-09-17.

Q: How much does a Singapore trip cost for a family of four? A: About INR 3,05,000 to 4,97,000 for two adults and two children on a 4-night mid-range trip. Flights and visas multiply by four while the room does not, and attractions add about S$630 to S$900.

Q: How much is the Singapore visa in the trip budget? A: INR 3,400 per person through an authorised visa agent of the New Delhi High Commission or the Mumbai Consulate-General: an INR 2,100 processing fee plus an INR 1,300 service charge, neither refunded on refusal. Chennai’s Consulate-General publishes an INR 1,000 service fee and allows other charges, so confirm the total with your agent.

Q: How much should I budget per day in Singapore, excluding flights and the visa? A: About INR 6,800 to 11,000 a day per person on a budget and INR 12,600 to 22,600 mid-range, two sharing a room. Hawker dishes at about S$4 to S$7 and MRT fares of S$1.28 to S$2.57 keep the budget figure low.

Q: Is travel insurance included in these totals? A: No. Travel insurance is not mandatory for a Singapore visa or for entry, but it is strongly recommended because medical treatment for visitors is expensive. Its price depends on each traveller’s age, trip length and sum insured.
