The three trip shapes below cover most Indian travellers to Dubai, and the totals are per person unless the row says otherwise. Each is a bottom-up sum of the line items in the next section, assuming two people sharing a room and travelling outside the December to February peak at the lower end of each range.

The per-day column is the whole trip divided by days, so it includes the flight and the visa; the day-to-day spend once you land is lower, and the FAQ below gives that figure separately. Two things fall out of the table. A mid-range Dubai trip typically lands near INR 1,20,000 per person. And a family of four comes in below the per-person mid-range figure on a per-head basis, because two of the four are children and rooms, airport transfers and a shared data plan do not multiply by headcount.

Return economy fares from the main Indian metros to Dubai run about INR 16,000 to 24,000 at the budget end and INR 24,000 to 38,000 for a comfortable mid-range booking, with peak-season fares reaching INR 35,000 to 55,000. The cheapest observed round trip from India to Dubai in recent data was INR 21,332 and the cheapest one way INR 13,618, with the cheapest month to fly averaging INR 29,807 and the dearest averaging INR 38,663; direct flights average about 3 hours 15 minutes and the data suggests booking at least 77 days ahead.
By city, observed return fare bands sit at roughly INR 17,000 to 27,000 from Kochi, INR 18,000 to 28,000 from Mumbai, INR 20,000 to 32,000 from Delhi and INR 22,000 to 35,000 from Bengaluru, with peak November to January fares at INR 35,000 to 55,000. Low-cost carriers on the route sit around INR 16,000 to 20,000 return, while full-service economy on Emirates or Etihad is more typically INR 30,000 to 50,000.

The UAE visa line item
Budget INR 6,900 for a 30-day single-entry UAE tourist visa applied for directly, or up to about INR 9,500 once an agent’s service charge is added. The government fee is AED 252 plus 5 per cent VAT, which is AED 264.60, or about INR 6,864 at 1 AED = INR 25.9405 on 2026-08-10; the 60-day single-entry visa is AED 352 plus VAT, about INR 9,588 (GDRFA-Dubai, single-entry tourist visa, accessed 2026-08-10). GDRFA lists processing at 48 hours for the single-entry tourist visa.
There is no such thing as a Dubai visa as a separate document. It is a UAE visa (commonly searched as a Dubai visa), issued under federal law through ICP for six emirates and GDRFA-Dubai for Dubai, and applications go through those portals or through an airline, a licensed travel agent or a hotel ( u.ae , tourist visa, accessed 2026-08-10). Whether you can file it yourself depends on the route, which is why the visa line has a spread rather than a single number: ICP’s federal channel allows a visitor to apply directly for certain visa types, while GDRFA-Dubai’s tourist visa requires an accredited UAE tourism establishment as sponsor, so on the Dubai route a booking or an agency is usually in the loop (ICP smart services and GDRFA-Dubai, single-entry tourist visa, both accessed 2026-08-10). Part of the difference between the government fee and an agent price on that route is the cost of a channel you cannot bypass rather than pure markup.
One condition attached to the visa is worth knowing here, because it is not a fee and does not belong in this line. The UAE conditions its tourist visas on holding medical insurance valid in the UAE, and for the 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa it is an explicit required document alongside a 6-month bank statement and a return ticket ( u.ae , tourist visa, accessed 2026-08-10). For a standard 30-day or 60-day tourist visa, GDRFA does not ask you to upload a policy, but medical insurance valid in the UAE appears in the service card’s terms and conditions as a stated condition of the visa (GDRFA-Dubai, single-entry tourist visa, accessed 2026-08-10). Those are two different things and it is worth knowing which one applies to you. What a given channel accepts as proof is a question for that channel, so confirm it with whoever files your application, and note that visa agents often bundle a basic policy into their package price, which is a commercial arrangement rather than a government tariff.
Indians do not get visa on arrival in the UAE on an Indian passport alone: it depends on holding a qualifying visa or residence permit from another country, and everyone else applies for a tourist visa in advance. Hotels, by tier and by area
Budget rooms in Deira and Bur Dubai run AED 150 to 280 a night (about INR 3,900 to 7,300), mid-range 4-star hotels AED 300 to 600 (about INR 7,800 to 15,600), and 5-star properties AED 700 to 1,500 and upwards (about INR 18,200 to 38,900). For scale, Dubai’s city-wide average daily rate across all hotel categories was AED 579 in 2025, about INR 15,020, up 8 per cent on AED 538 in 2024, with occupancy at 80.7 per cent and an average stay of 3.7 nights (Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, via the UAE Public Debt Management Office, published 2026-02-09, accessed 2026-08-10). If your quote is far above AED 579 a night, you are buying location, brand or season, not a Dubai baseline.
Two structural points matter more than the star rating. Area is the bigger lever: the same standard of room costs materially less in Deira or Bur Dubai than in Downtown, Marina or on the Palm, and the metro makes the older districts perfectly workable. Season is the other: peak-season rooms in November to March carry a large premium over the same room in June to August, when Dubai’s heat pushes rates down sharply.
Read hotel prices per room, not per person. That single fact is why a couple pays well under double a solo traveller’s total, and why the family-of-four number below is not four times the solo number.
The tourism dirham, the line most budgets miss
Dubai adds a tourism dirham of AED 7 to AED 20 per room per night to your hotel bill, about INR 180 to 520, charged for up to 30 consecutive nights and shown separately on the invoice. The rate follows the property’s classification: around AED 10 for a 3-star room, AED 15 for a 4-star and AED 20 for a 5-star, with budget and unclassified properties at the lower AED 7 rate. On a 5-night mid-range stay that is roughly INR 1,950 per room, small in itself but a genuine surprise at checkout if your budget assumed the room rate was the whole bill. Some hotels also take a refundable incidentals deposit on your card at check-in, which is held rather than spent.
Food and drink
Eating in Dubai costs about INR 1,560 to 2,330 a day per person if you stick to cafeterias and food courts, and INR 3,110 to 4,670 a day for a mix of casual restaurants and one proper sit-down meal. A meal at an inexpensive restaurant averages AED 45 (about INR 1,167), a three-course dinner for two at a mid-range restaurant AED 300 (about INR 7,782), a fast-food combo AED 35 (about INR 908) and a 0.33 litre bottle of water AED 3 (about INR 78), on data current to 2026-08-09. Most tourists who mix cheap local spots with a couple of nicer meals land at AED 120 to 150 a day, about INR 3,110 to 3,891.
Indian travellers have an unusual advantage here. Dubai’s South Asian cafeterias in Karama, Deira and Bur Dubai serve full meals at the bottom of that range, vegetarian food is easy to find everywhere, and mall food courts sit in the AED 30 to 60 band. The line only inflates when you build the trip around brunches and Downtown restaurants, which is a choice, not a Dubai tax.
Getting around Dubai
Reckon INR 1,950 to 3,250 per person for a 5-day metro-led trip and INR 7,800 to 14,000 for a 6-day trip that mixes metro with taxis, because the Dubai Metro is genuinely cheap and covers most of what visitors want to see. A Silver Nol card costs AED 25 (about INR 649) and then charges AED 3 for one zone, AED 5 for two zones and AED 7.50 for three or more (about INR 78, INR 130 and INR 195), with a daily cap around AED 14 (about INR 363) after which travel is free until midnight. Taxis start at AED 12 (about INR 311) and run about AED 2.57 a kilometre, roughly INR 67.
Airport transfers are worth pricing separately. A taxi from Dubai International to Downtown is roughly AED 25 to 55 (about INR 650 to 1,430) and to Dubai Marina about AED 85 to 100 (about INR 2,200 to 2,600), while the Metro Red Line runs from the airport on a standard fare. If you plan to hire a car, budget for the rental and note that an Indian tourist needs their Indian licence plus a valid International Driving Permit obtained in India before travel, because India is not on the UAE’s IDP-exemption list (Gulf News, accessed 2026-08-10).
Attractions and the big-ticket experiences
Two or three headline experiences cost about INR 10,100 to 12,700 per person; a fuller mid-range list with a waterpark or an aquarium day runs INR 15,000 to 28,000. These are indicative prices observed on 2026-08-10 and converted at 1 AED = INR 25.9405, not fixed tariffs.

Three practical notes. Burj Khalifa prime-hour tickets at sunset cost meaningfully more than the same visit in the morning: on the bands in the table, about AED 61 to AED 70 a head, or roughly INR 1,580 to INR 1,820, so shifting the slot is the cheapest saving on the list. Global Village is seasonal: Season 30 ran from 2025-10-15 to 2026-05-10 at AED 25 on weekdays and AED 30 any day, and Season 31 runs October 2026 to May 2027 with prices not yet published, so a summer trip simply cannot include it. And the Museum of the Future has been reported as closing in mid-September 2026 for a major exhibition revamp, with a relaunch planned for the first quarter of 2027, so check before you budget for it (Gulf News, accessed 2026-08-10).

It is also the line that decides how bad your worst day gets. Whatever paperwork you travel on, entry permission pays nothing towards treatment: private hospitals in Dubai are expensive and expect payment or a valid insurer at the point of care, so a single emergency admission can cost more than the trip. That is the number to size the cover against, not the price of the cheapest policy on offer.

A 5-night, 6-day mid-range trip costs about INR 95,000 to 1,60,000 per person, and most people who book a 4-star hotel, eat out properly and do the headline attractions land near INR 1,20,000. The extra night and the extra day of food and transport account for less of the difference than the two big swings, which are the hotel and the airfare.

Attractions are the line that behaves differently for families. Child tickets exist but they are not always much cheaper: a Burj Khalifa child ticket sits only modestly below the adult one, and several attractions charge the adult rate from age 4 or 8. A single waterpark day for four can add INR 30,000 or more on its own, so pick two or three headline experiences deliberately rather than working through the list. Dropping one waterpark day and one restaurant dinner takes roughly INR 45,000 off the family total.
Note also that every traveller needs their own visa, including infants, so the visa line multiplies cleanly by headcount while the room does not.
What moves your total the most
Four things move a Dubai budget more than anything else: the month you travel, the district you sleep in, how many paid attractions you do, and how early you book the flight. Season is the largest single lever, because it moves the two biggest lines at once. November to March brings pleasant 20 to 30 degree weather and the full events calendar, and hotel prices to match; June to August is genuinely hot but is when rooms and fares are cheapest, and April, May and October sit in between. District is the second lever and it is underrated: an older-Dubai base on the metro can halve the accommodation line against a Downtown or Marina address for a similar standard of room. Attractions are the third, and the difference between a two-experience trip and a seven-experience trip is INR 20,000 or more per person. Booking lead time is the fourth: the fare data suggests around 77 days ahead for the cheapest India to Dubai tickets.
One more, less obvious. Because hotels, tickets and restaurants are all priced in dirhams while you earn in rupees, a few per cent of AED to INR movement quietly changes a family budget by thousands. That, plus your card’s foreign-currency markup, is worth watching in the weeks before you pay for the big-ticket items.
Most of this money is spent before you land
On a mid-range Dubai trip, the flights, the visa and usually the hotel are all committed before departure, which is around 50 to 55 per cent of the total sitting in other people’s accounts while you are still in India. On a INR 1,20,000 trip that is roughly INR 65,000 of prepaid, largely non-refundable money, and on the family trip above it is over INR 1,50,000. Travel insurance is the line that protects it: trip cancellation for listed reasons, plus the emergency medical cover that matters most in a city where a private-hospital admission is expensive and hospitals expect payment or a valid insurer at the point of care.
