Customers can now go to the choice of their hospital to avail treatment without being worried about its network status or pay out of pocket under reimbursement. Cashless facility can now be extended to the hospitals which are not in company’s network at the time of admission.
Gone are the days when traditionally policyholders had to worry about arranging funds for hospital admissions. Now, policyholders can access an extensive non-network of hospitals where they can avail of cashless services with the cashless everywhere initiative. This means that individuals can check into a non-network hospital without the need for immediate out-of-pocket expenses in the event of a medical emergency or planned hospitalisation.
Cashless everywhere simplifies the payment process within and outside network hospital. Instead of the traditional model this initiative ensures a seamless and cashless transaction at the point of service. The insured individual will simply present their health insurance card at hospital and the intimation should be sent to the insurer/TPA 48 hours prior to the proposed date of admission and within or after 48 hours of admission in case of emergency treatment.
This expansion ensures access to quality healthcare services across a wide geographic area for policyholders. There are around 40,000 hospitals under the common network facilitated by GIC where insurer can provide cashless facility to the customer. The hospital details are available on our website.
