A comprehensive guide to Bullet 350 vs Classic 350.
Royal Enfield is one of the oldest motorcycle brands that are originally from India and has always become popular due to its unique looks and great horsepower. The Bullet 350 and the Royal Enfield classic 350 are currently amongst the most successful models of Royal Enfield motorcycles. Although the items have comparable engines and retro looks, there are few distinctions. Let us discuss more about this below.
The Bullet 350 has Royal Enfield’s time-tested pushrod operated overhead valve single-cylinder engine, which delivers maximum power of 19.8 bhp and max torque of 28 Nm. This provides the bike with enough power for urban commuter use and casual highway travel. It is powered by a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder engine that works together with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.
The Royal Enfield classic 350 is fitted with the same 346cc air-cooked, fuel-injected UCE (Unit Construction Engine) as the Bullet 350 but tuned differently for BS6 compliance. This engine is slightly detuned to produce slightly lower max power; 19.1 bhp, but is more efficient and smoother than the Bullet’s engine.
The two bikes have almost similar features, the gearbox being one of them with both bikes possessing a 5-speed gearbox.
Classic 350 doesn’t divert from the vintage aesthetics with a round headlamp, round cluster, single seat and rounded fenders like the Bullet 350.
The styling of the Classic 350 is retained but gets an updated face with an oval headlamp, a new console featuring a digital-analogue speedometer, split seats and new colour options.
Both bikes use spokes on the wheels and have tube-type tyres.
Another aspect that the Classic 350 has over the Heritage 350 is that it comes with features such as an electric start, tripper navigation pod, and dual-channel ABS.
The Bullet is more old-school with a kick start, advance-retard ignition lever and single-channel ABS.
For customers who wish to have a more contemporary Royal Enfield experience, there is the Classic 350, whereas the Bullet 350 is more of the traditional model.
In India, it is compulsory to have at least a third-party cover while buying any bike but comprehensive two-wheeler insurance is always recommended. This is because it covers own damage component which includes compensation for damages in cases of accidents as well as in cases of thefts.
Both Bullet 350 and Royal Enfield Classic 350 require two-wheeler insurance. The choice of coverage may depend on the specific insurance needs of an individual. Other aspects of ownership such as service costs are also comparable for both of these motorcycles.
The Royal Enfield classic 350 is closer to the current models and comes with more modern designs and features while the Bullet 350 retains the traditional Royal Enfield look. Some of the additional features that may be of interest include the warranty and insurance options such as Zurich Kotak two-wheeler insurance which saves you from worries during the period of ownership.
